Surprise Beach Proposal in Maui
It was one of those days were we hit this magical point in time where the beach was empty, the sun was just right, and, let’s face it, Stanley and Lisa’s outfits were completely on-point. This surprise beach proposal had everything from bright blue ocean water to those dreamy pastels that light up the sky as the sun sunk below the horizon.
“Lisa and I met in Philadelphia, where she was doing research at UPenn. She knew very few people in the city, but I grew up in the city and had family/friends around. We fell in love through exploring the city together.”
A story that began in the city was about to start a new chapter on a desolate beach on the beautiful island of Maui.
THE PLAN:
Before dinner, Stanley and Lisa would head to the beach for a casual stroll. Meanwhile, I followed behind and documented the whole thing!
THE PROPOSAL:
As Stanley reached the end of the beach, he turned Lisa toward him and began his speech. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee (and check out the wave-crash action behind them! Hot damn it was perfect!). It was quick, but all the emotion was there. Lisa couldn’t hardly contain herself!
THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION:
Our session really did encompass everything awesome about South Maui. The blue water, the beautiful sunset, a black sand beach, and plenty of lava rocks! That night we had a stellar afterglow that lasted at least 10 minutes after sundown!
Stanley and Lisa: what a privilege it was to photograph your surprise beach proposal in Maui! You two felt like old friends that I was just catching up with. This is the start of a beautiful new chapter in your lives! Congrats!
