Private Proposal at Hotel Wailea
When I spoke with Tom on the phone a month or so ago, I knew this proposal would be something special. Tom was coming to Maui with his sweetheart Kaileen and staying at the beautiful
The Plan:
Tom already knew the spot in which he wanted to propose: the sunset lawn. Though it would be an hour before sunset, the view from this piece of property at Hotel Wailea is unmatched. From the lawn you can see Kaho’olawe, Molokini, the West Maui Mountains, and even Lanai!
The Proposal:
Hiding behind a Jeep in the parking lot, I waited for Tom and Kaileen to make their appearance. There weren’t many places for me to hide while walking out to the lawn, so I hid behind some royal palms and crossed my fingers that Kaileen would keep her eyes on the horizon. Tom led her to the pavilion and moments later, asked her to marry him.
The Engagement Session:
For our engagement session we did a little at Hotel Wailea (I mean, the hotel is so pretty!) and a bit at White Rock Beach. We were treated to a really nice sunset down at the beach; we made it just in time!
Kaileen and Tom: Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special moment. You two compliment each other so nicely–kind of like Jim and Pam, or maybe more like William and Kate. Nah–actually, I’m going with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling 🙂 Congratulations on your engagement! Enjoy every second!
