Maui Proposal Photography on the Beach
In mid-April I was contacted by Cory who would be visiting Maui in May with his long-time girlfriend Jamie. He knew she was the one–in fact, he could tell me exactly when he fell in love with her!
The Plan:
Cory wanted his Maui proposal photography on the beach–but it had to be that was private and offered a spectacular ocean view. This can often be difficult in Maui, as all beaches are public and often times the beaches in front of condos and hotels are packed! I made a few videos and sent them to Cory for review.
Corey decided that a beach in Makena was perfect for his proposal. So now he just had to get Jamie there.
Here’s how it went down: I called Cory at 5:00 pretending to be Capische, the restaurant they had made reservations at, saying that we had to push back their reservation. After the call, Cory told Jamie that dinner had been pushed back so they might as well explore!
When they headed out to the beach, I clandestinely followed behind, camera ready.
The Proposal:
After we rounded the corner to get away from the crowd, Cory and Jamie took some selfies. Well, a lot of selfies. But hey, I get it: Maui is beautiful and if there isn’t a photographer right there (or you don’t know there’s a photographer there), you may as well take them yourself!
After a short period of time, Corey felt the time was right and he dropped to his knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
SHE SAID YES!
The Engagement Session:
We spend the rest of our time before sunset cruising around South Maui. Here there are plenty of lava rocks, ocean, palm trees, and white sand beaches. They were adventurous enough to jump in the car with me so I could take them to some beautiful spots that were off the beaten path.
Cory and Jamie: Congratulations! Thank you for trusting me to capture your super sweet Maui proposal on the beach!
